What's Love Got To Do With It?

There is song that says, “What’s love got to do with it? What’s love but a secondhand emotion?” Well, I’m here to tell you that love has everything to do with it. The right kind of love is safe. The right kind of love is an anchor that keeps us, and our emotions grounded. The right kind of love is one that saves, offers protection, gives peace, and provides freedom.
You may be asking, “what kind of love is that girl, because I haven’t found it yet.” Well, it’s the kind of love that is unique and found only in one place, and that is in Jesus.
I sat at my desk trying to get my thoughts ready to write this blog and started to think about what I wanted to say to you. The only thing that kept running through my mind was the word love and how it is so imperfect in us as humans, but so perfect in Jesus.
Before really, truly finding and having a relationship with Jesus my life was in utter chaos. It seemed hopeless. It seemed as if it wasn’t going anywhere. I was at a dead end. Just when I thought, “that’s it, I’m done,” He stepped in and changed it all. His love literally saved me, and it continues to rescue me from myself every single day.
What does love have to do with it? EVERYTHING! His love is your salvation! His love is your mental and emotional peace! The Bible says that Jesus’s love covers a multitude of sin. His love is so powerful that no matter what our past looks like, no matter what you and I have done, we can go to Him for refuge, healing of all kinds, transformations, and provision. I motivate you to fearlessly run to Him and His overwhelming love and release all that you are to Him. Accepting Him as your Savior is the greatest decision you could make. And being faithful to Him with your entire life and deciding to follow Him and stay in a committed relationship with Him, is the most epic picture of redemption and love. Why can I write that? Because I have experienced it. I live it each day! I am by no means perfect. Not even close. And I still go through my difficulties and struggles. But having Him in my life and allowing Him to direct my path is the most liberating thing I have ever experienced.
Because of His great love I have been restored. Because of His amazing love I have been redeemed. Because of His amazing love my mental and emotional health has been restored. Because of His love I can live an abundant life. Not abundant because of money or because of material things, but spiritually abundant, mentally abundant, emotionally abundant. His love causes me to give Him priority in my life, and He is then with me every step of the way.
Choose today to be fearlessly in love with Jesus. Choose today to commit your entire life to Him. Choose Him today because He chose you before the beginning of time.
Romans 10:9-11 NLT
9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”
Genuinely try Jesus! It takes a fearless kind of woman to say “yes!”
With love,
Mimi
